Whitefish Bay Real Estate

Whitefish Bay real estate is very impressive. Many of the homes in the village were built before 1950. Whitefish Bay has some of the most sought after real estate in metropolitan Milwaukee. Here you can buy almost home for between $200,000 and $2 million. Single family homes comprise that vast majority of the housing stock in the Village but there are some condos and a handful of duplexes.

It is hard to imagine that real estate in Whitefish Bay was once mainly farmland, but it was. Then, in 1889, beer baron Captain Frederick Pabst built a popular lakeside resort named the Pabst Whitefish Bay Resort. The resort offered a ferris wheel, concerts, movies and other attractions. Thousands of people used to travel to it during the summer months until it closed in 1914.

Line with sidewalks throughout, Whitefish Bay is a pedestrian friendly community. Many of its residents walk to whatever they need around town. Children walk to the school, library and parks. Adults walk to the stores, churches and beaches. The US Census Bureau reported a population of 14,163 in 2000.
